General
Most of our jackets are cut short and all of our jackets are slim fit. Since each jacket has its own unique features, every jacket may fit slightly differently. There is a size guide as part of every jacket and gloves product page.
We produce in small batches, made to order batches. Our leather jackets in approximately 4 to 6 weeks and our nubuck Jackets in approximately 7 to 8 weeks. Accessories such as gloves, if bundled with a jacket, will be sent with the respective jacket. Separately, gloves take approximately 2-3 weeks to make.
For more information, please visit our Process page.
By only producing jackets that are ordered, this allows us to focus on making high-quality jackets at a reasonable cost. Each jacket is made by using Grade A Full-Grain Sheep Leather, individually sewn and inspected multiple times to ensure the highest quality.
We want to be part of the solution and not the problem. Our made to order model allows us to reduce our environmental impact that is unfortunately typical of the fashion industry. Producing in limited quantities reduces any excess inventory because we only use material we need.
For more information, please visit our Process and/or Leather page.
Unlike leather made from cow or buffalo, sheep leather offers a velvety texture with a softer finish. Cow or buffalo leathers are great durable materials but because of the hide’s thickness, they don’t make for comfortable everyday wear. Lamb and/or Goat leather are also great for their softness but lack durability and can often rip and tear.
The wool from the sheep also protects the hide from getting any blemishes or scars, giving the hide a more consistent texture.
For more information on our leather and/or nubuck, please visit our Leather page.
Our Lightweight option comes with a thinner gauge of our water-repellent leather or nubuck with perforations on certain areas of the jacket, as well as a mesh satin body lining. Our Standard Midweight option comes with our normal gauged water-repellent leather or nubuck, no perforations and our standard cotton body lining. Currently only our Hercules and Aphrodite Nubuck jackets come in the Lightweight and Standard Midweight options while the rest of our jackets come in our default Standard Midweight option with plans of having a Lightweight option sometime in 2022.

Exchanges & Refunds
Yes!
We understand that buying anything online can be difficult so we offer size exchanges for our jackets. Size exchanges do need to be submitted within five business days of receiving your order.
To proceed with a size exchange, email orders@threadsofapollo.com with your order number and size exchange in the subject line. Once approved, return labels will be provided via email. Size exchanges are limited to one per order.
You will receive a shipping label that can be added to any poly mailer or e-commerce box.
Jackets need to be sent in the same condition as they are received without any stains or scents and with all labels attached. Worn, scented or damaged items may be rejected.
Once the jacket has been received and approved by our team, a replacement jacket will be added to the next production cycle.
We keep a reserve of Leather and Nubuck especially for size exchanges as we understand that waiting an additional six weeks would be time consuming. This reserve allows us to send a replacement jacket approximately two weeks after the original has arrived and has been inspected.
If this reserve runs out for your respective Leather or Nubuck jacket colour and type, then an additional four to six weeks would be needed.
We understand that this can be a long wait. Our Leather and Nubuck jackets should ideally fit a bit tight at first and we make ours especially pliable so they open up sooner rather than later. If you are able to wear the jacket and move around in it, then we highly recommend giving it time to stretch out and conform to your body. Our jackets are just like premium quality leather boots, they need to be broken in. Since these are hand-stitched, a 1cm -1.5cm size tolerance is normal and to be expected.
Please note that this only applies to our jackets. Size exchanges will not currently be offered for any accessories such as gloves. For sales or discounted items please see the "Do you offer size exchanges or refunds for sale items?" question below.
Due to their limited nature, muti-tone styles are not eligible for size exchanges
All sale orders are final sale. We are unable to offer refunds or size exchanges. This includes purchases using a discount promotional code(s), end of season sales and/or jackets bought during our warehouse promotion(s). We always work with any customers that might have an issue with the garment.
Since our jackets are made only when ordered, we are unable to offer refunds. We always work with any customers that might have an issue with the garment but our goal has been to reduce the amount of waste that comes from the fashion industry. This includes carrying as little inventory, on hand, as possible.
Water-repellent
Leather is a by-product of a naturally porous material that is created during a process termed "tanning". This process doesn't change the fact that the resulting leather, being used for a jacket, is still permeable and will absorb water. This leads to eventual damage, both in the short and long term.
Nubuck and suede are even more so cannot tolerate water. If exposed to consistent water, stains and eventually permanent damage will occur.
Currently, all products, including Leather and Nubuck jackets as well as any accessories shown, are water-repellent. We do have plans to introduce products that won't be. You can always know for sure by checking the "Details" section on each product page.
Applying oils, waxes, creams or conditioners can be a time consuming and expensive endeavour. Our Leather and Nubuck jackets and accessories are treated down to the fibres when we produce it, removing any worry of having to apply wax or other products that can damage the Leather. This means you can simply purchase a jacket and not have to worry about the perfect weather conditions to wear your jacket or wonder if you’ve properly treated it.
Our innovative treatment solution will last for the lifetime of the jacket. As long as the Leather and/or Nubuck fibres are intact, the jacket will repel water while keeping the natural properties of our Leather and Nubuck.
This water repellent solution is not a surface coating. We’ve developed an innovative method of treating Leather and Nubuck that involves embedding our proprietary in-house solution right into the fibres of the Leather. The result is a product that naturally deters water as opposed to being a treatment that is applied on the surface. Our solution is environmentally friendly.
Leather & Jacket Care
To clean your jacket or any accidents that cause minor damage, we strongly recommend taking it to a leather specialist who is trained at cleaning and repairing Leather and Nubuck.
When not wearing your leather jacket, it is best to hang on a wooden hanger in a cool dry place and preferably inside a garment bag to protect the jacket. If you do not have a garment bag, hang the jacket in a cool dry place.
Although there is no need to condition our jackets, if you really want to on your own accord, we recommend applying a layer of natural leather conditioner or cream/lotion to you Leather and/or Nubuck jacket. Apply just a little bit, to an internal, non-visible area of the jacket, first, to see how it reacts, before applying it to the rest of the jacket.
When properly stored, the leather jackets should not get wrinkle but if they do, we do strongly recommend taking it to a leather specialist to have any cleaning or maintenance work done on your jacket.
After trying on your jacket and ensuring you are satisfied with your order, we recommend hanging up your jacket to let the Leather and/or Nubuck to stretch and relax. This will remove any wrinkles that may develop during shipping.
